The Doddridge County Historical Society now has the 1979 "History of Doddridge County, West Virginia" available on CD in Adobe PDF format.

Every page, including the end pages, is there for the viewing, and it is a lot cheaper. Twenty dollars for the CD and five dollars shipping if they mail it to you. (They are available at the museum in West Union)

Every effort was made to make this CD a quality product. Each page was scanned, straightened and cleaned up. Since the pages were scanned, text cannot be copied but pages or portions of pages can be printed.

Background:

THE HISTORY OF DODDRIDGE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA, 1979, 367 pages. A Collection of Historical Sketches, Church and Family Histories as Submitted by Present and Former Residents of Doddridge County. Doddridge Historical Society, 1979. Limited edition, only 1070 copies printed. Very hard to find. Once in a great while one will show up on e-bay and go for about $150.00. If you don't bid that high, Mountain Heritage Books will buy it and sell it from his St. Marys book store for $325.00.

Besides the 270 pages of family histories, there are chapters on Churches, Schools, Notable People, Cemeteries, Roads and Railroads, Communities, a lot of great stories and so much more.

The 1979 "History of Doddridge County, West Virginia" has been out of print for over twenty-six years.
